Hi All,

I am not sure whether this is the place to ask a basic question like this.But please help me out.
I am using Oracle 10.2.0 on Solaris 10 U6 (Sparc Architecture).

I have a question :-

-if I create a profile (ie TEST) and enforce some security settings to the profile using utlpwdmg.sql.

Now the security settings for profile(TEST) will be stored in the database or it will read utlpwdmg.sql from where the profile security settings is created.

Hi Rahul,

Thanks for your question. There are a few points about your question. If you create a new profile called TEST using the contents of utlpwdmg.sql then you will of course need to edit it as it currently alters the DEFAULT profile not a specific profile but this is trival as you simply need to change the name of your profile (and change the settings to something more useful to your own design).

When you exceute the script the changes are made in the database, the profiles are stored in the database not read from the file.
