Title: Twitter banned passwords Post by Pete Finnigan on Dec 29th, 2009, 8:23am Twitter has now 370 passwords you can't use. They are just too obvious. Techcrunch.com has an article about it (http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/12/27/twitter-banned-passwords/) and a link to the list (http://www.techcrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Twitter-banned-passwords.txt). It is not certain how Twitter came up with the list, but if it is based on passwords that people frequently choose, then it is kind of interesting. If you look at the list, you see a couple of ones in the category "what were they thinking": - password, password1, password123 - 123456 - secret A part of the list reflects common first names, sports teams, car brands, other brandnames and names of movies and series. But what surprised me (perhaps shouldn't have) was the number of sexual related passwords. Some people (men probably) really seem to have their heads in the gutter. |
